The origins of the mighty Guangzhou Dragons began in 1998 as the ‘Consulate Union’, a loose collection of transient consular staff and kayakers, seeking a break from the excessive and self-indulgent luxury of diplomatic life.

Then, after years of unremitting toil working the Pearl River there appeared one among us with extraordinary charisma and talent for organization, planning and partying, a man they called Li KaLok.
As team manager he has forged a stronger more resilient identity at the water margin and where new members are always welcome to join.
Our captain Vega, aka ‘Dear leader’, has overseen some important stages in our growth and development such as organization of professional corporate TEAM BUILDING events, the introduction of a tighter and more sexy costume, a better dance routine, as well as the terrifying ‘Who are we?’ chant.
With the guidance of our Dear Leader and committee members we will continue to raise our team’s flag throughout China and other International Tournaments.
